At one time,I would have rated johnny carino's as the best place to eat in johnson city. but recently me and a couple friends visited there. sad thing about it is, i have raved about how good this restaurant is. boy was i ever disappointed. (so were my guest) the soup was cold and watered down. anyone who has dined at johnny carino's knows the minestrone soup is wonderful, but not anymore. i ordered the talipa fish, apparently it was spoiled or something. after 2 bites, i knew this was not to be consumed by anyone. it was absolutley disgusting. my guest ordered veal and the other a skillet dinner. the skillet dinner was cold, and the veal was actually the best part of any of the meal.
the service was not the best that it could be, but our waiter was new at his job so we were very tolerant of him. his personality made up for all the other things that went wrong with out meal. sad to say, his personality didn't fill our bellies and i won't be going back to johnny corina's again. my guest said this was a '2 trip' thing for them. their first and last.
seems as tho the quality of the food has gone down hill tremendously in the last several months. thats to bad, cause at one time, johnny carino's had the best food in johnson city.
